This artwork was born from witnessing the Walk for Peace 2025-2026 - the pilgrimage of 19 Buddhist monks walking 2,300 miles from Fort Worth, Texas, to Washington D.C. carrying a message of peace.
I wanted to capture not the solitude of the journey, but the joy of welcome: communities of every culture stopping by the roadside with flowers in their hands, children watching the monks pass with wonder, and Aloka - the peace dog with a white heart on his forehead - leading the way.
